Introduction to PE gas pipes

PE gas pipes use gas polyethylene pipes, which have many excellent properties and are applied in the field of gas transportation. We will thoroughly solve the corrosion and joint leakage problems of steel pipes and cast iron pipes, thereby ensuring the safe operation of the gas pipeline network system. The PE material used for PE gas pipes is an inert material that can withstand the erosion of various chemical media. The friction coefficient of the pipe wall is low, the flow resistance is small, and the conveying capacity is strong. It adopts electric heating fusion connection, and the interface strength is higher than that of the pipe body. The high toughness PE fracture elongation generally exceeds 500%. PE gas pipes have good seismic performance, resistance to slow crack growth (SCG), rapid crack propagation (RCP), flexibility, and scratch resistance.

PE gas pipes have strong adaptability to uneven settlement of pipe foundations, strong wear resistance, and can be used in various non excavation methods, which greatly facilitates construction and installation. The system cost is low, the maintenance cost is low, and the engineering cost can be significantly reduced.

The advantages of PE gas pipes are reflected in:

1) High strength, excellent stress cracking resistance, and good creep resistance;

2) Good toughness and flexibility, strong adaptability to uneven and misaligned foundations, and able to resist harsh environments such as earthquakes and typhoons;

3) Has good weather resistance (including UV resistance) and long-term thermal stability;

4) Corrosion resistance, long service life, suitable for transporting natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, and coal gas;

5) Smooth inner wall, high flow capacity, gas flow rate can reach 20m/s, saving operating costs;

6) Good wear resistance and abrasion resistance;

7) Good resistance to low temperature impact, can be safely used in the temperature range of -20-40 degrees, and is not affected during winter construction;

8) Hot melt (or electric melt) connection is convenient and reliable, with easy construction and maintenance (gas can be continuously supplied during the process);

9) Fully suitable for traditional excavation construction methods and new non excavation technologies such as pipe jacking, directional drilling, lining, cracking, and sinking underwater;

10) Polyethylene raw materials only contain two elements, carbon and hydrogen, which are harmless to the environment and environmentally friendly.

PE gas pipe execution standard

PE gas pipes comply with the national GB15558.1-2003 standard.

Appearance of PE gas pipe: At least 3 yellow strips should be extruded on the black pipe, and the color strips should be evenly distributed along the circumference of the pipe.

Application of PE gas pipes

Polyethylene (PE) gas pipelines have been successfully widely used in the field of gas transmission and distribution, and are favored by many gas industry households due to their long-term service life, excellent corrosion resistance, reliable connection and safety performance, as well as low construction and maintenance costs and many other advantages. According to the different grades of raw materials, polyethylene gas pipes are divided into two grades: PE80 and PE100; According to the standard size ratio, it is divided into two series: SDR11 and SDR17.6. The SDR11 series is suitable for the transmission and distribution of various gaseous media such as natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas (gas), and artificial coal gas, while the SDR17.6 series is suitable for the transmission and distribution of natural gas.
